How To
Bid (Buy)
Many people who have never bid at an auction worry about hand signals.
While it is true experienced auction buyers do have their own way of signaling the
auctioneer, you do not any more than a bid card.
To get a bid card simply go to the cashier's window. Ask for a number. You
will need to present your driver's license and fill out a simple address card. We then
issue you a bid number and card that is good for one year. When you want to bid on
something all you need do is hold up your card and the auctioneer will acknowledge your
bid. Important Note! If you get confused and bid by mistake,
or if you have any other misunderstanding, immediately tell the auctioneer! Don't hesitate to stop the auctioneer in the middle of his chant. This is
the only chance you will have to prevent yourself from buying the item.
If you are the winning bidder you will need to pay
the cashier for your purchase before leaving the auction barn. If it is a large item you
may leave it over night or until Monday if you need to make pick up arrangements. All
small items MUST be taken home with you the night of the auction.
You are welcome to come in during normal business
hours to see what's coming up Friday night. Inspect items of interest to your satisfaction
because all sales are final, and all items are sold only in "As Is" condition.
Walker's makes no warranty or guarantee of the condition of any item sold.
How To Consign
(Sell)
If you have items you'd like to sell simply get a
bid number from the cashier. Once you have your number your items will be added to a lot
sheet with that number. If your items sell you may pick up a check before you leave.
Our Auction
House
Locals and ourselves refer to our building simply as
"The Barn". Its a large building with three stages, a large sales floor,a snack
bar, bathrooms, a livestock corral, and an office. We have a large parking lot so there's
plenty of room for the large crowds that show up for our auction events. Our sales floors
have display tables for smaller items and the larger items will be placed either up on the
stages or in various places on the sales floor. Please note that we do not necessarily
place like-kind items in the same place each week! We move item categories from location
to location based on available space. Be sure to look around each Friday night for your
favorite items!

What
We Sell On Friday Nights
Its easier to say what we DON'T sell, which is tobacco, alcohol, or any
illegal items. Just about anything else goes! We have a Federal license to sell firearms
so you can buy and sell those. On any given night we'll have at least 3 or 4 estates with
items at the auction. Individuals, businesses, and organizations all consign items with
us. Farm, home, business, commercial, antiques, you name it, it shows up here! That's what
makes it so much fun - you just never know what will be here. To keep things moving along
we have three auctioneers in action at all times. Rove from spot to spot and keep an eye
on how the sale is moving toward the items you wish to bid on.
